**GenOMICS: Today and Tomorrow’s Medicine ** BC Clinical Genomics Network (BCCGN) annual conference aims to inform clinicians about genomic technology and research. Keynote speaker is renowned author James Reston Jr. who will will speak about the challenges he faced when his daughter was born apparently healthy but later developed a rare, undiagnosed disease. This year’s conference will focus on how genomics is applied in different therapy areas.

Who: It is critical that TAS Advocates have a presence at these hearings to put forward concerns about prescription drug costs in Canada. Members of the general public are also welcome to attend
What: The Committee will focus its study on the health aspects of various issues relative to prescription drugs (patented and generic) in Canada, such as the rising costs; the review and control of prices; the approval of new drugs; the monitoring of adverse effects and prescribing practices; the marketing to and lobbying of prescribers and dispensers; direct-to-consumer advertising; the access to drugs; the misuse, abuse and addiction within the general population; and international comparisons.
