These ‘Shoes are Made for Walkin’

Like many mature people with mature Rheumatoid Arthritis, my feet are now an issue for me. When you see me walking, you won’t mistake me for Karen Kain’s dancing partner. Well past the age of vanity, I’ll trade looks for comfort any day. Give me shoes that will take me for a reasonable ramble and won’t leave me crippled in the evening when I get home. I’d more or less given up hope that I would find such shoes, and then fate took me to Washington, DC.

Ann Qualman:  Making an ever lasting difference

To help transform the health care system that Canadians rely on and pay for, the federal government committed more than $70 billion through agreements reached in 2003 and 2004 with the provinces and territories.
